The Institute of Community Development Practitioners, Nigeria was established in 2013 and formally recognized in December 2014 by the Corporate Affairs Commission, with approval from the Federal Ministry of Education and Justice.

Vision: The institute aims to be a centre of excellence for promoting quality community development standards of practice in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.

Mission: to advance community development education and professional practices in Nigeria

Goals: to strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of community development and allied professionalness through innovative training and continuing professional development programmes which addresses needs and skills gap in Nigeria.

 

Our Main Objectives:

  • To advance public education through the promotion of community development, community capital building, and other philanthropic purposes;
  • To provide community development strategies and standards in Nigeria;
  • To research, publish, and disseminate information related to community development, and to improve conferences, training, and exchanges in the field.
